Barrett Black, the fourth-generation owner of The Original Black’s Barbecue in Lockhart, is sharing his take on a BBQ dessert! Black drizzles bite-sized pieces of smoked jalapeño-cheddar sausage in bourbon before setting them aflame to caramelize the fat (and burn off the booze). Next, he coats the sizzled sausage bites in maple syrup and sandwiches them in halved donut holes. Black is a bourbon fanatic, so he finishes the dessert with one last drizzle, but feel free to skip the extra bourbon to make these kid-friendly.
